About the Business
Jones Barbeque is an iconic multi-generational Black family enterprise operated by sisters Deborah Jones and Mary Jones Mosley. Originating in Arkansas and smoking meats in West Seattle for over forty years, the Jones family uses hardwood pits and a secret family dry rub to produce tender, deeply flavored smoked meats.
Located on Fauntleroy Way SW in West Seattle, Jones Barbeque serves as a testament to Black family entrepreneurship and enduring resilience. Championing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s international initiative “Building Our Economic Wealth,” the Jones sisters demonstrate the power of intergenerational wealth, welcoming Sorors with an exclusive Sisterhood Advantage amenity.
Serving tender hickory-smoked pork ribs, brisket, hot links, smoked turkey legs, and signature sweet-and-tangy barbecue sauce, Jones Barbeque is a celebrated centerpiece for June Black Dollar Days and summer family reunions. Customers can order platters for takeout or catering.
