About the Business
Onyx Fine Arts Collective was founded in 2006 by artist Ashby Reed and six fellow African American artists to curate, exhibit, and champion visual arts by artists of African descent in the Pacific Northwest. Onyx has mounted over forty major regional exhibitions, breaking barrier after barrier in institutional galleries.
Operating its flagship gallery space inside Pacific Place in Downtown Seattle, Onyx provides a prominent civic platform for visual storytelling. Strongly aligned with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s international directive, “Building Our Economic Wealth,” Onyx channels patron art acquisitions directly to living Black artists, extending an exclusive Sisterhood Advantage invitation.
Exhibiting masterworks in oil, acrylic, sculpture, photography, and mixed media by emerging and established Black artists, Onyx is an essential cultural stop for June Black Dollar Days. Art collectors and visitors are warmly invited to tour the gallery or acquire original works online.
