Quickie Too — Tacoma Vegan Diner

Quickie Too was founded by matriarch Niombi Howell and her family in Tacoma’s historic Hilltop neighborhood over twenty-five years ago. As the pioneer of 100% plant-based soul food in Washington State—and the parent foundation for Seattle’s Plum Bistro—Niombi perfected scratch-made seitan, organic tofu marinades, and vegan barbecue.

Situated on MLK Jr Way in Tacoma, Quickie Too represents decades of Black health advocacy and community wellness. Harmonizing with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s international directive, “Building Our Economic Wealth,” the Howell family proves the enduring strength of Black vegan entrepreneurship, offering a warm Sisterhood Advantage to visiting Sorors.

Renowned for the Crazy Jane BBQ Seitan Burger, vegan Mac & Yease, Southern fried tofu wraps, and freshly squeezed organic juices, Quickie Too is a legendary staple for June Black Dollar Days in Pierce County. Guests can call ahead or visit the diner on MLK Jr Way.
