Boon Boona Coffee — Seattle Capitol Hill

Expanding from its Renton roastery, founder Efrem Fesaha opened Boon Boona’s Capitol Hill cafe on E Pike Street to bring authentic East African coffee culture directly to Seattle’s urban core. Sourcing exclusively from women-led farming cooperatives across the African continent, the cafe honors centuries-old indigenous roasting and brewing rituals.

Located at the dynamic intersection of Capitol Hill and the Central District, this gathering hub provides a warm and inclusive environment for community dialogue. The cafe actively champions Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s “Building Our Economic Wealth” initiative, welcoming collegiate Sorors from the Gamma Alpha Chapter at the University of Washington and Delta Upsilon Omega alumnae with a dedicated member privilege.

Serving expertly pulled single-origin espresso drinks, nitro cold brew, cardamom-spiced tea, and fresh locally made pastries, Boon Boona Capitol Hill represents an essential community stop during June Black Dollar Days. Guests are invited to stop by for their daily brew or pick up retail bags on Pike Street.
